Here are some “good bills” we’re tracking & advocating for in Tallahassee this Florida Legislative Session.

These bills made their way through legislative committees this week and will continue through the legislative session:

SB 546/HB 441 – Conservation Lands by Sen. Mayfield and Rep. Kendall

This bill would make the conservation land swap proposal process more transparent. SB 546 has passed 2 of 3 committees and HB 441 passed its third and final committee this week.

SB 1294/HB 1245 Biosolids by by Sen. Bradley and Rep. Shoaf

This bill would reduce the impact that sewage sludge has on our waterways. HB 1245 has passed 2 out of 3 committees and SB 1294 has passed 1 of 3 committees.

SB 1230/1019 – Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) by Sen. Harrell and Rep. Cross & Long

This bill would require PFAS testing in biosolids/sewage sludge and prohibit the use and sale of aqueous film-forming foam. Both bills have passed 2 of 3 committees.

SB 1066/HB 981 – Tributaries of the St. Johns by Sen. Broduer/Rep. Duggan

This bill will restore the Ocklawaha River and make investments in river communities. SB 1066 has one more committee and HB has cleared all of its 3 committees.
