Let’s Finally Reunite the Rivers.
The River needs your help! Ask Governor DeSantis to support the $6.25 million in the state budget to finally restore the Ocklawaha River.
Floridians have been advocating to breach the Rodman/Kirkpatrick Dam and restore the natural flow of the Ocklawaha, an important tributary of the St. Johns River, for over 50 years.
The science, economics, and public opinion overwhelmingly support restoration. A free-flowing Ocklawaha would significantly benefit the health of the St. Johns.
Now, you can help make history.
For the first time ever, the Florida Legislature has approved funding to start the process to reunite Silver Springs, the Ocklawaha, and the St. Johns.
While this is a historic moment, we still need Governor DeSantis to sign the budget without vetoing the funding for restoration.
We don’t have much time. Contact the Governor today and ask him to support the $6.25 million in the budget for the Ocklawaha.
Let’s finally right the wrongs of the past and restore a free-flowing Ocklawaha River!

Breaching the dam will reestablish access to essential habitat for manatees, bring back migratory fish populations, reconnect three river ecosystems and historic Silver Springs, and restore a lost riverway for anglers and paddlers from the Ocklawaha to the Atlantic. We have a historic opportunity to restore this Great Florida Riverway once and for all!
