We have a bittersweet announcement about one of our beloved staff members. Emily Floore, education director for St. Johns Riverkeeper, has accepted the position of executive director for St. Marys Riverkeeper! While we are sad to see her leave our watershed, we are delighted to see Emily grow into this new position within the Riverkeeper family. Please join us in wishing her the best!
Over the past five years, Emily has contributed much to K-12 students and teachers in the St. Johns River Watershed. Here are just a few things she’s most proud of:
- Helped launch the successful Frolic on the St. Johns education event for Putnam County elementary students in partnership with Putnam County School District and Bartram Trail Society of Florida,
- Developed an extensive array of virtual learning programs and resources for educators and students, including educational kits and videos, and
- Delivered on-the-water educational experiences to over 25,000 students during her five years.
Emily told us that her favorite thing about working for St. Johns Riverkeeper is “the passion for making a difference and the support to deliver actual change! I am going to miss everyone I have met along the way and getting to know the St. Johns River Watershed community.”
Looking forward, St. Johns Riverkeeper is hiring a new Education Director. If you are passionate about the St. Johns River, science education, leading the next generation, and giving students the tools they need to be better stewards of the environment, this might be your dream job!
