We are excited to announce the 2011 college and high school winners of the contest. Both winners received a $500 prize for their winning entries.
And the winners are …..
Anthony Baskerville – College Winner, Art Institute of Jacksonville, Jacksonville, FL
Tiffany Burnett – High School Winner, Mainland High, Holly Hill, FL
Brittani Bell – Viewer's Choice Winner, University High School, Deltona, FL
The contest is held each year to involve high school and college students in the effort to raise awareness about the St. Johns River. The theme of this year’s contest was “A Voice for the River.”
Thanks to the Downtown Council of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Florida Times-Union and jacksonville.com for their generous support as sponsors of the 2011 PSA Video Contest.
Jimmy Orth, Executive Director of St. Johns RIVERKEEPER, says, “The talent and concern for the river exhibited by these students is inspiring and gives me hope that the future of the St. Johns is in good hands.”
Education Director Greg Nagel adds, “The contest provides kids and young adults with the opportunity to be the voice for their St. Johns River and to inspire the community to protect the river for future generations.”
