Our Water, Our Waste, Our Land: Sharing Results from Our PFAS Study
January 13, 2027 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Our Water, Our Waste, Our Land: Sharing Results from Our PFAS Study | Wednesday, January 13 | 6-7:30 p.m. | Melbourne Public Library (Conference Room) 540 E Fee Ave.
Join us in the Melbourne Public Library’s conference room to discuss the PFAS study’s results!
Our pilot study tested tap water for PFAS (“forever chemicals”) in households connected to Lake Washington, part of the Upper St. Johns River Basin. Now we’re ready to share what we found.
Come learn about the key takeaways, how the results were analyzed, and what they mean for our water, health, and communities. We’ll also discuss how biosolids, the treated sewage sludge often spread on land as fertilizer, may be contributing to PFAS pollution in the Upper Basin, where the St. Johns River begins and what happens on the land affects water quality downstream.
All community members are welcome! Even if you didn’t take part in the study, you can attend to hear the results analysis, learn more about PFAS and why we studied them, and find out what you can do to better understand and protect your local water resources.
Whether you contributed a sample or are simply curious about what’s in your water, we invite you to join us, ask questions, and connect with others in the community.
