Explore Wetland Preserve | Saturday, February 28, 2025 from 9 a.m. – Noon | 299 State Rte 100 Palatka, Florida 32177
Join us for a special opportunity to spend the day at Wetland Preserve, a 3,800-acre property in Putnam County protected by Florida Forever conservation easements and managed with conservation and stewardship at its core.
This event is more than just a walk in the woods—it’s a chance to learn firsthand how private lands play a powerful role in protecting clean water and healthy rivers. Ben and Louann Williams will share their experience as award-winning land stewards, highlighting how conservation easements, sustainable forestry, and prescribed fire support both healthy forests and thriving watersheds.
You’ll gain insight into:
- The vital connection between land conservation and watershed protection
- How forests safeguard clean water and support the St. Johns River
- The role of the Florida Wildlife Corridor and neighboring conservation lands
- Practical examples of sustainable forestry, wildlife management, and restoration
Ben and Louann are not only incredible stewards of the land but also engaging storytellers—whether it’s about conservation partnerships, living with Florida’s wildlife, or the history of St. Johns Riverkeeper. They’ll be available to answer your questions about conservation, stewardship, and North Florida’s unique ecosystems.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to explore Wetland Preserve, connect land conservation to river protection, and learn from two of North Florida’s most passionate advocates for land and water.
