River Rising: Brewing Up Solutions
June 13, 2023 @ 6:00 pm
Tuesday, June 13 | 6 p.m. | Southern Swells Brewing Company
Climate change and rising waters are undermining the health of our river, our beaches, our community, and our economy. It is critical that we all do our part now to tackle climate change to protect our waterways and the future of Northeast Florida.
Jacksonville University’s Dr. Jeremy Stalker will chat with Lisa Rinaman, your St. Johns Riverkeeper, and share how rising waters are damaging Northeast Florida waterways. We’ll discuss how we can act locally to do our part to fight climate change while protecting our waters.
This is part of our 2023 series of brewery conversations exploring solutions to climate change, sea level rise, and the pollution problems threatening the health of our river and our communities. Brought to you by St. Johns Riverkeeper’s Water Policy Group.

River Rising: Why it Matters
Rising sea levels are making storm surge events worse, causing more septic tanks to fail, undermining infrastructure, pushing saltwater further upstream, and threatening the health of our river and our communities.
Now is the time to ensure that the St. Johns River is resilient and healthy enough to withstand more frequent shocks to its system and for all of us to address the underlying causes of climate change.
