St. Johns Riverkeeper has partnered with Earth Kinship to bring you the Search for Bartram’s Ixia. Explore the Bayard Conservation Area in search of the “Bartram’s Ixia” flower (Calydorea caelestina). You only get a couple of chances a year to find this rare flower William Bartram cataloged in the 1700’s, and it only grows in seven counties of northeast Florida. Bartram’s Ixia is an early bloomer and is quick to wilt away, so meet your guide early to rediscover this Florida wonder.
