SUMMARY:River Rising: Brewing Up Solutions
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, October 10 at 6 p.m. at Aardwolf Brewing\nIt is critical that we all do our part now to tackle climate change to protect our waterways and the future of Northeast Florida. Join us at Aardwolf Brewing Company in San Marco for our October Brewing Up Solutions event. \nCome for a pint and for meaningful conversation on how we can all be part of the solution. \nAnne Coglianese\, Jacksonville’s Chief Resilience Officer (CRO)\, will join the St. Johns Riverkeeper\, Lisa Rinaman\, to discuss highlights of the soon-to-be-released Resilient Jacksonville strategy document. For the past fifteen months\, the CRO and planning team have led a science-based planning process to prioritize actions and investments that will make Jacksonville more resilient. Building on important resilience work in Jacksonville that preceded this effort\, this process engaged public\, private\, nonprofit\, and philanthropic stakeholders as well as the public in identifying and developing resilience actions. Read the draft outline of the Resilience Strategy. \nRegister\nRSVP here to let us know you’re coming. \nThis event is part of our 2023 series of brewery conversations exploring solutions to climate change\, sea level rise\, and the pollution problems threatening the health of our river and our communities. Brought to you by St. Johns Riverkeeper’s Water Policy Group. \nMeet the Panelist\nAnne Coglianese is the Chief Resilience Officer for the City of Jacksonville. In this capacity\, Anne leads the development of resilience initiatives to ensure Jacksonville can adapt and thrive in the face of acute shocks and chronic stresses brought on by climate change. Prior to joining the City of Jacksonville\, Anne served as the Coastal Resilience Manager for the City of New Orleans where she implemented nature-based solutions to sea-level risk and coastal land loss. Anne’s previous experience also includes serving at the White House Council on Environmental Quality\, where she participated in the development of climate adaptation and resilience policies to meet the Obama Administration’s resilience goals.
