DESCRIPTION:Join Clay County Parks Naturalist Liza McCain for some pre-back-to-school science fun at Camp Chowenwaw.\nWe will be dipping our nets into the water and exploring some of the unique macroinvertebrates (small pond critters) that call the St. Johns River home. These creatures are vital to the health of the river and the waters around it. Everyone will get a chance to participate in the exploration. \nThis experience is geared toward Elementary School aged kiddos 2nd grade and up. SUMMARY:Green Drinks Summer Series
DESCRIPTION:The North Florida Green Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural Green Drinks Summer Series began in June at the Cobalt Moon Center and then moved next door to Sliders Bar and Grill in Neptune Beach. There’s no charge\, but registration is encouraged. \nFollowing a presentation on Biomimicry at 4 p.m. at the Cobalt Moon Center\, the event moves next door at 5 p.m. to Sliders Bar and Grill\, Jacksonville’s first Ocean Friendly Restaurant\, for the Green Drinks social. \nSeries topics will include using Biomimicry to create sustainable products\, to design new business practices\, and using Biomimicry and Bio-utilization to clean up waste. Integrative Bioscientist Jessica Tittl of BiomeFuture\, an innovation company dedicated to applying the knowledge and power of nature to the development of sustainable products and systems\, will be the presenter. \n4-5 pm Biomimicry Presentation at Cobalt Moon Center \nCobalt Moon\n214 Orange St\nNeptune Beach FL 32266\n5-6 pm Enjoy a Green Drink and networking at Sliders Oyster Bar \n(Jacksonville’s first Surfrider Ocean-friendly restaurant\, 218 First St. Neptune Beach)   \nThursday\, Aug. 25: Using Biomimicry and Bio-utilization to clean up our waste \nThis event is FREE.
