SUMMARY:Take Action to Fight Climate Change: Renew Jax Info Meeting
DESCRIPTION:JEA is the largest community owned utility in Florida and the largest source of carbon emissions in Northeast Florida. Renewable energy sources only represented 1.3% of JEA’s energy portfolio in 2021\, with only 0.64% produced by solar. \nAs a result\, Sierra Club’s Northeast Florida group has launched the Renew Jax campaign to encourage JEA and the City of Jacksonville to commit to 100% renewable energy\, such as solar\, by 2050. Twelve other Florida cities have already committed to exclusively using renewable energy on or before 2050\, and we can too! St. Johns RIVERKEEPER has joined with Sierra Club as a campaign partner. \nRegister\nRegister to receive the Zoom link to join Sierra Club of Northeast Florida and St. Johns RIVERKEEPER to learn more about the Renew Jax Campaign on Thursday\, January 19 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
