The paddle is approximately 13 miles\, but all downstream and is an easy paddle even for beginners. \nThis event has a suggested donation of $10 and includes two SweetWater beverages during the paddle. \nMeeting Location for Paddle(9:30 am): Ray Wayside Park & Boat Ramp\, 9560 NE 28th Lane\, Silver Springs\, FL 34488. \nBring your own boat (kayak or canoe) OR vessels available for the following suggested donations:\nKayak- $25\nCanoe- $30 \nAll paddlers/campers are responsible for bringing their own water\, food and other recommended items such as bug spray\, sunscreen\, sunglasses and hat. Campers are required to bring their own camping equipment. If you are providing your own boat\, you must bring a personal flotation device (PFD) and whistle\, which is required by law. \nCamping\nCamping at Gores Landing Friday\, June 7th and Saturday\, June 8th is optional\, but highly recommended! Gores Landing is a cozy campground right on the banks of the Ocklawaha River. The evening will include drinks\, laughs and maybe even a night hike! On Sunday\, there is an opportunity to make a stop at Salt Springs before heading home. DESCRIPTION:Attention all current volunteers and members of St. Johns Riverkeeper\, the River Patrol and Rising Tides !!\nThe River Patrol is hosting a Summertime Social in conjunction with The Rudder Club of Jacksonville (map it!). \nThis will also be our Save Our Water Kick off in collaboration with SweetWater Brewery. \nBring your friends and family to join us for guided sailing excursions on the water (bring your own PFD)\, plus an opportunity to get your feet wet with your own kayak\, canoe\, or SUP and suits for a dip in the pool. We’ll also have some family activities like corn hole with prizes and a raffle. \nAfterward\, enjoy some BBQ on the Rudder Club lawn.\nThere will be a cash bar inside the clubhouse.\nPlease bring a potluck item to add to the table as well for sharing. \nLearn more about what being a “River Patroller” is all about!
