Read WJCT’s recent news story covering the issue. \nNow’s the time to take action and help us raise awareness to get the GREEN out! Join St. Johns Riverkeeper staff to learn what causes these blue-green algal blooms and why they’re harmful to you and our River. We’ll also teach you ways to help us reduce algal blooms by living a more River Friendly lifestyle. \nYou’ll also learn …\n– What happened on nutrient pollution bills in the 2019 Legislative Session.\n– How to report algal blooms when you see them.\n– Upcoming algal bloom outreach events\, summer volunteer opportunities\, and more! \nHelp us get the GREEN out of our River – don’t miss this informative talk! You will go down a big hill past a big parking lot and then turn right on River Road. Take your first left across from the baseball complex. DESCRIPTION:Did you know that the St. Johns Riverkeeper’s Jacksonville Office is located on the Campus of Jacksonville University? Come join us upstairs in the Marine Science Research Institute Building and learn how you can help the St. Johns Riverkeeper. We will have volunteer orientation to get you informed on all the ways that you can help. \nStay after for a beverage and socialize with some seasoned volunteers while they share their experiences on our Observation Deck overlooking the St. Johns River.
