Resilient Jax will discuss “Resilient Landscaping” with Ginny Stibolt\, active with the Florida Native Plant Society – Ixia Chapter. Ginny is the author of “Climate-Wise Landscaping: Practical Actions for a Sustainable Future” as well as many other books on native plant landscaping. We are lucky to have Ginny join us for this meeting and hope everyone takes away a powerful message about the importance of our individual actions at home. \n We will also have an update on “Resilient Florida”\, the comprehensive resiliency legislation currently moving through the Florida Legislature \n At the end\, Coalition members will have the opportunity to connect and collaborate through updates and invites. SUMMARY:Middle Basin: Black Water Creek Bridges Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Join us in supporting the Wekiva Wild & Scenic River System during their annual bridges cleanup. Show up and help remove litter and debris from three different bridges in the Seminole State Forest. \nWe will meet at the Lake Norris Conservation Area East Trailhead at 9:00 AM. We will go over paperwork\, hand out supplies (grabbers\, trash bags\, gloves\, etc.) and divide the group into teams. The number of teams depends on how many participants. We will be cleaning up under three bridges\, SR 44\, CR 44A\, and Lake Norris Rd. Bridge. \nMask and physical distancing will be in place. We will have gloves and hand sanitizer available. Please wear weather appropriate clothes and proper footwear. Everyone will have to sign paperwork on arrival.
