SUMMARY:UNFILTERED - The Truth About Oysters Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:UNFILTERED – The Truth About Oysters Film Screening and Sustainability Art Gallery | Saturday\, October 11 from Noon – 5 p.m. at the Museum Of Contemporary Art (MOCA)\nUNFILTERED: The Truth About Oysters is an Emmy award-winning documentary film that explores the oyster’s role both in our world and its own. Ashore\, oysters are a beloved delicacy\, a commodity driving a robust market\, and a way of life for generations of people. Below the waves\, oysters have long been the silent protectors of the oceans. They are a keystone species that filter and clean vast volumes of water. Oysters also engineer the foundation for entire ecosystems in bays and estuaries across the world where thousands of species thrive\, from plankton to game fish. They are living water filtration systems\, storm barriers\, and an ancient source of protein. \nAfter The Film: Join the conversation with our panelists locally who are utilizing the power of oysters to help filter the St. Johns River. \nEarth without ART is just eh. Join Jacksonville artists\, movers and shakers at MOCA for a full day of programming centered around a sustainability themed art gallery. \n\nNoon: Doors Open\n12:25 p.m.: Introduction to the Film\n12:30 p.m.: Movie Starts\n1 p.m.: Panel Discussion\nView sustainably themed art gallery and mingle (12-5 p.m.)\n\nRegister\nRSVP here to reserve your spot! \nGullah Geechee Fest will be going on outside at James Weldon Johnson Park from 10am-6pm \nThis event is a part of Florida Climate Week – Co-hosted by COJ Sustainability\, VoLo Foundation\, and Riverview Collective Community Organization (RCCO) – Sponsored by Goodwill
